Furthermore, from its foundation Hezbollah has been supported by state sponsors, Iran and Syria. Both of them maintain extensive biological and chemical weapons programs. Recent developments seem indicate that the Iranian nuclear program would shortly beneficiate from the exploitation of domestic Uranium supplies. If the conditions generated by the intervention in Iraq could shift dramatically the strategy of Damascus and Teheran, the Hezbollah’s arsenal could be completed easily by CBRN weapons from these sponsors.
